6) How do Doctor Who and His Dark Materials help the BBC to meet the BBC's remit to inform, educate and entertain? Answer this question in at least 150 words.

Doctor Who is a science fiction show, it includes aliens and spaceships. It is also one of the longest running shows in the world. The plot is a narrative arc which follows the Doctor who travels through time to prevent evil aliens or people from innocent people. It reflects the 1960s social and historical context. It includes several gender stereotypes throughout the episode, such as seeing women as inferior to men. The cast is not diverse, majority of the characters are white, racism was still present. This fulfills BBC's mission to entertain. It also informs by showing the importance of education. Susan is shown as a highly intelligent girl in the show, it also subverts steeotypes by showing a female as knowledgable in a society where women were seen as care takers.
